I just picked up a 2016 SQ5 and want to hardwire my V1.
Can anyone confirm a good switched fuse slot to utilize?
Why not go the easiest route. I wired mine into the Homelink power in the overhead console. That way it is switched power with ignition and a very short run out of the front of it. Very clean install and no cutting of wires when using posi-taps.

I'm open to this. I've done this with several other cars with success.
Can anyone confirm which color wires are correct to tap into on a 2016 SQ5?
Can't say for sure what color they are, mine were Black/White for power and brown for ground, but someone said that changed for later models to White/Brown for power, so YMMV.
Here's a link to the install thread, and also to a mirror tap method.
I did mine a little differently, I have a V1 and had it for over 10 years now or even more than that, it was hardwired into my 2000 audi a4 (B4 platform). I just installed the V1 in my 2013 audi A4 (B8 platform) and did the Fuse box route. The location of my V1 is below the Sunroof right in the middle of the car. The wire is feed over the middle pillar and tucked underneath the rubber stripping, avoiding the side airbag curtain, down to the fuse box on the driver side. the Concealed display (accessory) is placed by the infotainment screen to the left (close to the driver dash) the wire is then feed right between the dash and down to the fuse box where everything is tucked nicely away. I used the fuse Tap (bussmann 10 ATM) and inserted 5 and 2 mini amps, you need at least 7- 7.5 amps to power the V1. The fuse I used was the 4th one down in the first (black) column. pics are attached... thank you for this
