Dumbest action since the purchase of my ibis
As you guys can see on my signature, I have ventureshield installed on my ibis.
Just read the warrenty when you get it cuz i didnt... and i paid for it.
The hood got hit by a huge bird poop, and wanting to take a good care of the ppf, I used a bug tar product to clean it.
after I finished, I noticed a huge yellow stain (diameter of 6-7 inches) that just won't go away. I found out that it clearly states on the warranty to not use any bug tar product.
It can only be seen at the right angle and the right amount of light, and if I never told anyone I bet no one would notice it (I know it's there, but it is so blurry that sometimes I question if it's really there). So, I'm just trying to keep myself from crying by telling myself that it is only the ppf that got stained, not the paint itself.
hmm, I have some questions now.
Should I just leave it like that?
or do a re-install (won't be covered by warranty and will cost me)?
If I just leave it, will it somehow damage the paint?
Thanks in advance for those who contribute. I love my car but I do not have much knowledge about taking care of it (waxing, polishing, general detailing stuff).

Have it redone. Otherwise it will bother you as long as you know that there is a stain. Obviously, you messed up. Been in that boat myself. Bite the bullet and get it fixed properly.

X2 - If it bothered you enough to post about it I say you get it fixed. Not fixing it will bother you until you get rid of the car. Missing the money you use to get it fixed will go away much sooner.

Try to leave it and go to either the installer or a pro detailer to see if they can remove it with buffing compound either by hand or preferably with an orbital.Contemplating on getting this type of clear bra(full hood-Ventureshield) and was told that it has a clearcoat very similar to paint.Next time use a quick detailer spray and a microfiber towel to get out the nasty as soon as possible as I speak with a LOT of experience with this on black.

Thanks for the reply guys, I will visit my installer and have him look at it, and ask for his opinion on it as well.
Ryan, I used turtle bug&tar, the same thing as you used. Only difference may be that I left it on for more than 5 mins. I did use it on other parts of the car where the ventureshield was installed, but it did not leave a stain becuz I didnt leave it on that long.
Thanks again guys
