Default ECU

I know that sometimes Vag-Com changes that you make can be erased when you go to the dealer for repairs. Does the same hold true for an ECU flash done when you get a tune? Are there times when this needs to be sent back to the tuner after service work has been done? Thanks for your help in advance.

All of my vag com changes where retained when my ecu was flashed.

If somehow the dealer erases your ECU then you can call up APR and they will reflash it for you. I believe this would be a rare experience though.

In what cases would the dealer ever re-flash your ECU? What I'm Wondering is if they would do it unintentionally or if they are obligated to contact you first before doing so?

I just got my car flashed and am bringing it in to the dealer for what most likely has nothing to do with the ECU, BUT I don't want to risk them undoing what I just paid $1350 for and without my knowledge.

All my VAG changes were erased last time I was in for service. I do not have an APR ECU (yet).
