to my knowledge all most all german engines are made in hungary, my previous 328i and x5 4.8is engine was also made in hungary but the transmission was made in germany. I heard that german cars have the best transmissions.

Why would you assume that the window sticker was incorrect?

it is comforting to know the r8 engines are also made in hungary, and i don't think they'll make a mistake like that on the sticker, also porsche assembled
full cars in finland before, so it must be common, i'm not really concerned, i just wanted to know that this is the norm.

You do realize automakers use suppliers from all over the world and that Hungary is merely the final assembly point of those components? Hell, the Audi Space Frame cars start life as aluminum from Alcoa in Iowa that is shipped to Audi. Relax, there's no issue here.

LOL, what? Once again, you realize most auto manufacturers source their transmissions from many of the same transmission suppliers? ZF, Borg-Warner, Tremec and Getrag. While many of the designs of the transmissions are from the OEM, they are built and engineered by specific transmission companies. The idea that "german cars" have the best transmissions is simply silly.
Borg-Warner is the supplier of the S-Tronic and DSG transmissions for VAG. They also are the creators of the Haldex AWD system found in many many cars including he A3 and TT.
The Sport Differential in the S4 is built by ZF, as is the torque vectoring system. The torque vectoring system found on most Audis is also the same found on the BMW X6.
Time for some of you to learn about supply chains and the global economy.

My daughter's 02 TT coupe was built in Hungary. BTW, I'm 1/2 Hungarian. Many 4 dr BMW 328s are built in South Africa. I believe thay had less problems than the German built units
