According to the glass company I used, Audi gets all their windshields from St Gobain, in China...

My insurance paid for OEM glass and the windshield had the Audi markings and right below it said "St Gobain". The non OEM glass this company uses is also made by St Gobain.

If Audi is sourcing its glass from China that is part of the problem. The Chinese are experts at making inferior products that look the same as quality parts. The aftermarket auto parts business has been ruined by cheap Chinese parts that don't last.
