Default Exhaust dust

So I picked up my Ibis White last week and after driving a while I noticed that the rear of the car had a lot of dust on it. Didn't make anything of it & was just wondering how it could get dirty so fast. This week I took it to the dealer for some perma plate application and when I picked it up it was absolutely clean. When I got back home I again noticed that the rear was dirty and looked dusty. Thats when I realized that the dust was probably coming from the exhaust. Has anyone (with Ibis white) noticed this? It may not be noticeable with other colors. The other ques I have is - will it go away once the exhaust system "burns" in?

It's not so much exhaust so much as road debris and dust. The tail of the car is very flat, which under normal driving conditions causes a dead air pocket from the bumper to the tip of the spoiler on the trunk lid. This dead pocket causes air to eddy there, and particles will drop out of the airstream and deposit on the paint.

I think what he's trying to say is, "no.. it won't go away".

I have the same issue in my Ibis White. I waited for it to go away, but it hasn't yet at 1000 miles.

Clay bar and paint sealant should help.

Yup. I claybar'd all of that stuff off and put a nice coat of paint sealant (and wax) on mine.

hmm, yes the rear gets dirty fast, but I never had a non-disappearing dust on my car (ibis).

A lot of it is probably brake dust. My Alpine White 335i was the same way.

With Meteor Gray I don't notice the dust as much, except on the exhaust. I'd expect Ibis White to show ever speck of dust, though!

Welcome to the ibis club and get used to it I second the clay, seal, wax. Do your rims as well and it should all rinse/wipe off easily.
