They are. But most likely 2012.5 or 2013 for the US. We always have to wait for DOT approval which as any Gov't bureaucracy takes time (and time , and time ....).

That V-8 sound is the only thing better than the V-6.

Which is faster 0-60? 0-100? quarter mile?

Officially, they are both 4.9sec 0-60. But there may be discrepancies in the real world tests. Just wondering.
Stock S4 runs dead even with pretty stock B7 RS4. Have done several times. Stock S5 should be no problem.

A tuned S4 (ECU) pulls a few car lengths on same pretty stock B7 RS4. Have done several times. Tuned S5 will not be a problem.

I love the S4, that's why I have one on order. But, the sound of that V8 is intoxicating!

Yes , but only with an aftermarket exhaust. I thought th sound of my B6 S4 with stock exhaust was just Ho Hum. The 335i actually has a much better sounding STOCK exhaust.

Why would I do that? The S4 is definitely a bit quicker. Don't forget, I'm a realist who has his feet on the ground when it comes to all of these cars. I've been around them for a few years and know more about them than you probably ever will...so I know exactly what these things can or can't do.

p.s. go **** yourself. Show me ANYTHING I posted that was wrong. I'll give you all ****ing week.

Not exactly sure which is quicker to 60 or in the 1/4 mile, but I do know that in every aspect of driving, the S4 is phenomenally more fun. The response is quicker and you feel like you're moving faster, so most likely you are. The V8 in the S5 is a thorough disappointment except for the sound.

I don't feel that the biggest areas of concern are where you're asking, I feel the overall drivability of the engine is where it's at. S4-100 S5-0. Sad as it is, I own one. S5

I spend more time on the S4 forums than on the S5 forums because of your sweet motor.
I think this says it all. Motor and fun factor = S4 Design = S5

see with stuff like this I have to take exception. Misinformation.

Last time I checked there's an 11 second S5 out there (not to mention a B6/7 S4 and B7 RS4 as well). Granted it takes a retardedly expensive supercharger kit on the S5 to get there, but don't miss the facts. Don't say the S5 doesn't have near the potential because that's just poppycock and shows that you're not thinking things through. The S5 has 40% more displacement, with 2 more cylinders and weighs 200 lbs less...AND has forged internals and can handle boost VERY well. The potential in the S5 is WAY higher than it is with the B8 S4. On the stock motor, I predict we'll see nearly 500 whp and mid-low 11 second quartermile times before we see that on the B8 S4.

Bolt on wise though, the S4 kills it. Most of the S5 mods just suck. Exhaust, tunes...they're really not adding much.

Hopefully JHM gets their supercharger for the S5 rocking. It'll be about $9,000 all in, not $13,000 like APR. Should help the S5 guys a bit, because damn...they need all the help they can get.

BTW...according to the Audi website, the S4 6-speed weighs 3,847 lbs and the S5 6-speed weighs 3,858 lbs.
