Default fender bender

Wednesday morning, Mass Pike, on the way to work, traffic was heavy. 3 cars smashed into each other in front, and I was stupidly following car #3 too close and was obviously not quick enough on the brake, and decided to join the party. Nothing structural, however grill, bumper and right headlight need to be replaced. Estimate is ~$2k :-( Been driving 19 years without an accident, and I finally get my dream car and all it takes is 6 months. My poor baby.

PS: Fortunately no injuries, bar some minor whiplash.

Sorry about your injured baby. Been there, done that and don't wanna do it again. Had my 2010 S4 two months and messed up my passenger side front quarter panel *pulling into the garage.* The fender bender caused 1K in damage. Had the car 4 months now and it's just a bad memory which is quickly fading.

It's harder to forget the '96 accident of my '95 S6 because I'll live with the disabilities for the rest of my life. Bought the car used and had it for 3 weeks when a 1991 Ford Escort station wagon T-boned the S6 at highway speeds (my fault for not replacing the worn tires sooner)! The accident caused a blood clot in my brain, a 7 week coma, 3 month hospitalization, and 1 year of outpatient rehab. In the end, it will eventually cost my car, medical, & disability insurance companies close to $10 million. Double or triple that expense if it happened today. So count yourself lucky!

Man, sorry to hear of the accident! I'm glad the damage was minimal to the car, but sorry to hear about the minor whiplash. I'm glad you're alright overall, though! Minor accidents happen... She'll be as good as new before you know.

drrick89 - That's an amazing story each time I hear it!

Thanks for the notes, and goodness gracious, yeah, after reading your story, I've got nothing to worry about!

Oh, you've got plenty to worry about - as I found out with my new S4's annoying garage fender bender a couple months ago. I'm just helping you to put it in perspective, that's all!
