awesome - i STRONGLY recommend you put some better pads in your front brakes. I really wish I had done that before my track event. Our car is a 2 ton pig and the brakes are not set up to haul it down from 130 over the course of a day long event.

There are other options EBC makes some swap out pads that are more suitable for the track than what we have as stock.

I'm not a fan of the for-profit driving events, but thanks. I went to Infineon with my BMW last Halloween with the BMW CCA. IMO, BMW CCA puts on the best events. They have instructors who are like college professors and they run the event on schedule, and safely.
I was going to wing it with the pads, but now you've got me thinking. That's the only thing you really need to change to make it track ready. I'd probably call Alcon directly and ask them about pads. The major brake suppliers know all the pads shapes and can get you a set. I'm partial to Performance Friction 06, but I'd be willing to try Pagid Yellow.
If I'm looking at doing 2-3 events over the winter, it might make sense. I have to look at the schedule.

This is only necessary if you're going to swap the rear pads. I swapped only the front pads on my old 330i for track days with good results in the past.
