Mine is around the same. I've had my car for about 8 months and initially I got around 14-15 mpg (with all city driving). Now I get about 16-17 mpg (car has about 5K miles on it). When I drive on the interstate, I'm at about 25-27 mpg (mostly flat) with cruise control at about 80mph.

EPA numbers are useless
fuelly.com has all the info you need. 150 B8 S4 owners tracking every mile/gallon have driven 1,500,000 miles on their cars report that they average about 19.4 mpg on average.
Those miles driven are a combo of city vs. highway, and the numbers are barely higher than the EPA city loop numbers. Thus it shows the city/highway EPA numbers are useless.

The EPA rating is really a range of ranges so City is really something like 15-21 and Highway is 24-32

My average over the life of the car (23k miles) has been just under 18mpg. I usually avg 23-24 on the highway but noticed a pretty healthy reading on the way back from AC this weekend:

its good to hear that my MPG is not all in my head or there is a problem with my S4. The numbers I am reading in this therad is about right. 28 mpg is not realistic. Your house would have to be situated on an on ramp to a highway and that is the route that you take tt work everday and you also do not drive to work during rush hour
At the end of the day, you cant cheat the numbers by ignoring the city driving or rush hr traffic on the highway. I'd say that 19-20 MPG overall is a realistic number, especially because S4 owners dont exactly feather the throttle. What we need to do is to find a way to stop these oil companies from gouging gas prices. But thats for another thread

I'm also at 19.4 after starting with fuelly.com in the winter (10 fill-ups). I saw 24 MPG on one tank b/c of some after hours highway driving coupled with some long stretches of truck route type roads with speed limits in the 40 to 50 MPH range and few lights. Regular commutes are a mix of stop n go and a little highway for a total of 15 to 20 min. Longer driving times would likely help as the engine would be warmed up for more of the trips.

Just got back from a long weekend in the mountains which was about 1000 km of driving. About 650 km of the trip was at 125 kmh, and the remainder was at about 100-110 kmh. Some big elevation changes. 2 adults and 2 smaller children with luggage. Hand calculated 8.6 L/100km (27 mpg), so not bad at all. Trip 2 shows an average of 10.4 L/100km (22.6 mpg) over the last 9000 km, but I think that's a bit optimistic.

I get 20mpg around town and this has been very consistant over the 30 months and 55k miles I have put on my 2010 S4. On a long highway road trip I get about 24mpg but hey, I still drive my car like I stole it, so I assume both those numbers could be improved on if I drove it a little more carefully but whats the fun in that. If my prime objective when I ordered it was to get good mileage, I would have bought a Honda.
