Good news: My new tranny finally arrived at the dealership!
Got a call this afternoon my dealership - telling me my new tranny had finally arrived from Germany today! So I should be able to pick up my car tomorrow afternoon; a mere 49 days after I dropped it off!! Yippee! 
Only, I'm not sure exactly what year transmission I'm getting as my service rep couldn't tell me whether it has launch control or not. We'll see. I'll give you guys the full report tomorrow evening!

That is great news...it's been so long it's going to feel like the day you took delivery all over again...not a bad feeling! Very happy you will be back up and running. Here's to a successful install!!...and hopefully a full tank of gas!!

Doc what exactly happened in the first place that caused all of this? Somehow I missed it at the time. Congrats on the tranny, hope it all works out well for you.

2011's on up have LC right? It will be very interesting so see which one they send...2010 or 2011 or 2012. Incorporating the software for each model year might bring with it some challenges. I'm sure Audi has it figured out...if it's a easy swap for a DSG no matter what year then I wonder who will be the first on the forums with a 2010 to upgrade to get LC?

Bruce, I'd thought that too but since there's no confirmation yet on whether the 2012s will have LC, I figured the safe bet is with an '11.... or has there been confirmation?

I have personally asked somebody to check if their 2012 has launch control and they did test and confirm it on their delivered 2012. Im not sure if it was this forum or the other.
