Got rid of the UGLY Silver trim around the instrument cluster

I hated the silver plastic. IMHO, IT looked cheap. It matched nothing else in the car. Its OK if you like the Silver plastic better. I might have actually been able to live with real aluminum. I'm happy with the black. I can't believe how much better it looks to me. Yes, I would prefer CF. Tell me where you can get some to match the OEM CF. NOWHERE! So for now, this is the best that I can do.

That paint will scratch and rub away and look like absolute sh*t within a month. I have used that stuff for multiple things from ATV's to household items. I understand where you are going with your idea, but this was not the way to do it.

+1 on the ***** to do this on a brand new car.
The parts are not that expensive to replace so if it has to go back it wouldn't be a big deal to replace the parts I guess.
Someone did it in gloss piano black to match the MMI area on the gear shift area and it looked great. IMO this doesn't look as good as the original or the gloss black, but what really matters is that you like it. It won't peel if you used the correct paint.
