From other forums I've read that sometimes boar's hair brush can scratch paint, if you get a bad one. I would think the boar's hair brush would be the best at shedding dirt with a grit guard. So I was hoping to get one. But I am not so sure now. May be the user used wrong washing technique and caused scratches? What do you think?

I use a boar's hair on my wheels, but it seems like there is so much material that it will pick up a lot of contaminants (even with regular rinsings, my wheel brush is *filthy*). I stick to a mitt or, lately, grout sponge for the paint.

ya...don't recommend using the same tools on your wheels as your paint. You definately do not want to clean your wheels and then use the same tool or cleaning solution to wash your paint. They do make boar's hair wheel brushes and paint brushes...don't recommend switching up their intended purpose.
