What does greasing the linkage pin entail? I would like to do it but have no idea whats involved and where to start.

i bought white lithium grease and sprayed everything that pivots just going upside down and looking at whole pedal assembly under the dash. I even greased the spring, rod, etc. There is a do it yourself guide on removing lower part of dash on here and actually removing the pin and using paste silicone grease and putting it back. Probably works better than my thing but mine feels better now

wait a minute, why in the world are you forced to do that yourself given its a brand new, $50k+, german engineered vehicle? ...this is wrong. i would go take a 12 lb s*T on the the dealer's desk before i would deal with that on my own.

+1

Pisses me off too that they couldn't have the courtesy to do this greasing for us at the factory. Hopefully thats all the issue is and doesn't require any surgery. I'd be quite jaded if so...

Cause the click wasnt bad to me. And the dealer changed everything including putitng a brand new clutch, flywheel, etc in my car under 3k miles cause of the clicking. They do grease it but their grease stands up only for a short time. I just used a better grease.

Same issue here that I've noticed since I first picked up the car. I hate to have to drive it into the dealer for something like this. Might just wait for the 5k mile service.

Maybe someone can post some pictures of where to actually apply the grease? I'm definitely not disassembling anything if that's necessary.

I tried greasing just the linkage pin and the click still happens. Not sure where to go from there as I don't want to start guessing. I'm also contemplating waiting for the 5k service but that wont be for another 7 months for me
