FYI, if you take it to the red line(or just shy of the redline for the squeamish) nothing unusual will happen. Engine will just keep running smoothly. But I wouldn't keep it at the redline for more than a few secs. Also, the DSG will automatically shift at 7k rpms. The 6mt will go higher than that before the rev limiter cuts off fuel. But no damage occurs.
