Default How can I tell if I have an aluminium water pump?

Is there an easy way to tell if my car has the aluminium water pump?

look where the arrow points. If this looks like black plastic (as in this photo) you have plastic. If it's silver aluminum looking, then it's the aluminum one.

I carried my laptop out to my engine bay to try to check it out. I found the three large in the bottom of your picture, but I can't seem to find any hoses in the area that look like the ones pictured. Is the water pump just to the right of the engine block? And is it visible from an open hood or do you need to be under the car?

You can see it pretty clearly if you pop off the black plastic engine cover and look down nearly dead center on the front of the block

Open hood dead center (more or less) on the front of the engine.

man, they made it easy for you to find it on your car....my car didn't have the red skull and crossbones on my radiator hose.

that was an option - I paid extra for the callout to identify the plastic waterpump of death!

If you add the above pictures to the "X" marks the spot, it is pretty easy to tell.
