The Supercharge Badges are offered by Audi as an option on the option list at time of purchase. Its like choosing...any other option from the manufacturer.

Further in some iterations they are not even options but come as standard equipment--- for example they come standard when you buy the Alu-optic stone guard package.

If you think they are "posing" on an S4--then what are they when they are on an A6 or A7 3.0T...which is just 310 HP?

Should those purchasers all "debadge" because they selected the 3.0T engine?

Its not fair to say that someone who purchases an S4 and selects the OEM Supercharged badges as an option when purchasing their car or the Alu-optic stone guard package is the same type of poser who slaps a non OEM turbo (looks like porsche)on an A4 1.8T.

What other OEM options in your mind makes for a "poser"? Is it okay to select rubber floor mats over the carpet.

Selecting the SC Badges over the V6T Badges is similar...just a prefence while checking the order boxes.
Sorry.... +1

FYI--in German the term supercharged begins with a T--hence the V6T (rather than S).

put big stasis badges lol

just kidding. I don't think anything was missing on these cars for years when they didn't have engine nomenclature there. B5/6 had nothing. B7 put the V8 there. C6 RS6 put V10T there. That was pretty damn cool...but not really necessary.

I think the problem is S4 owners want to try to differentiate the car from the A4, and having come from a B7 S4 which looked just like the B7 S-line A4, I totally understand that. The thing is, there are two people...those who know what it is, and those who don't. Those who know, know no matter what. Those who don't...they just think it's an Audi. Like the R8. like the TT. Audi. Putting 'supercharged' doesn't really do much.

Frankly supercharged, as an application, is worse than turbo charged in just about every way other than performance from 1500-3000 RPM. So putting supercharged on there...not sure it's really all that cool.

with respect to the supercharged badge, nobody said they are 'poser'. It is poser if you drive an S4 and rock an RS4 badge (or slap an M in front of 323i). That's poser.

I just think (and explained this above) that the supercharged badge on the S4 doesn't work. And, IIRC, it wasn't a tickable option for the S4 for the first couple of years. It was on the A6, and guys liked them and slapped them on mostly to get rid of the V6T. Not sure what's so bad about V6T. Is it that it says 'V6'?

If my car came with a silly badge, I would get rid of it. As I mentioned above, I think the Z06 badge that says '505hp' on the sides of the car is uber-gay, and if I owned a Z06 I would ditch it. Just because it's OEM doesn't mean it's not silly...and in the case of the S4 it just doesn't fit.

As I said, shouting about being supercharged isn't really all that cool. Neither is shouting about being turbo charged. It's lame engineering talk frankly. How about getting 'NA' for naturally aspirated cars like the RS4 or the R8? Think how stupid that would look. All of it to me is a bit silly.

The problem with the V6T badge is the S4 has a supercharger, not a turbo.

if you go to any translation site supercharged does not start with a "t"

Ask the dealer to have the detailers remove the decal from the rear of the car. They will do it for you. At least they have done this for me twice.

better yet, don't have your paint touched by the dealership and avoid the free of charge dealer installed swirl option. Take your car to a real detailer ASAP after you take delivery for a true new car prep, and if you desire no badges, have that detailer remove it.

Ya know, I can't remember the exact word but I did see it one time, it's turbo- or tubrbi-somethingsomething, supposedly it doesn't mean exactly "supercharged" but more like "compressed air" or "turbine" maybe.. Kinda useless post I know but the translation is out there if you look hard enough. Hell it's in this forum somewhere most likely.

edit: now that I think about it I think the word basically means "forced induction" and could actually be used to describe a turbo too. Kinda wacky however you look at it, really.
