Default iPhone OBDII Readers for Audi S4 (B8)

Gents, wanted to get some feedback from anyone who is considering or has purchased one of the ODBII devices which integrates to your iPhone.

If so, may you post your findings and results to which is a better buy.

I have found two which I am currently considering, but not sure if they are the best option for the money.
  1. Kiwi Wifi - PLX Device
  2. GL1-OBD Reader

I have the plx one, used it for many year with bmw before getting the S4 recently. Only connected once to s4 so far, but it did work. Will try to provide more details once I update my iPhone software(via pirate site :-)

It requires your phone to be jailbroken for it to work properly?

Does someone know if there are other reputable units like these out there with a comparison chart? Is there something important that I should consider before buying that would be essential to a S4?

What's the advantage of one of these devices compared with the Ross-Tech cable/software, besides lower cost and no need to have a laptop? These devices can read/clear codes and do some datalogging from what I read, but they can't change settings to your car. Do these devices have good tech support? Ross-Tech is very responsive on this forum.

I have taken the plunge and purchased the Ross-Tech, spoke to one of their engineers today and seems to be the best option for me to have.

I got it in the mail today. I ordered the BT version instead of the cable. It works great and the stats seem to be on track. The RPMs and other metrics are shown in real time. I know it does not change the settings like Ross-Tech, but I wanted the other features of this program now. I still plan on buying Ross in the near future, but the GoPoint was only $50. BTW, I have a iPhone 4S and a iPad"3" and they both work with it.
