$500/month sounds more like an A4 than an S4...unless you are putting a lot down for capital cost reduction or getting a completely base car with zero options.
Most of the lease payments I see people posting on here are between $700-800/month.

For fun, I tried running the numbers. A 4-year lease with 10,000 miles/year allowed will put you into an absolute bare-bones S4 for $500/month. But only if you throw down $12-15K downpayment or trade-in equivalent. In short, an absolutely terrible deal. Putting money down on a lease is usually a bad idea.
I'd be looking at certified pre-owned, or check for a 2012 dealer demo model on the lot- although it will still be pretty tight to get that.

The best *realistic* numbers I come up with are $606/mo + tax, for a bone stock S4 with just first payment out of pocket (doesn't make sense to me to put anything down on a lease). That's assuming an msrp of $47,300, a discount of ~2k (4% off msrp), and adding $1200 for delivery, registration and crap. It puts your total purchase price (net cap cost) at about $46 flat with your first payment due at signing. Then assuming you can get the 59% residual and .00141 money factor (just got these off of a board, I have no idea if these are accurate current lease rates) you should be around the $606/mo + tax.
That's at least 20% more than you want to pay, so you should either look at something else or put money down :-)

Greatly depends where you live. If you are in a large urban market and have several Audi dealers to work with, you can pit them against each other (via internet). This really drives the price down farther than what the online calculators and websites will show. If you don't live near a competitive region, then my advice is totally useless. =)

Don't get his hopes up! :-) As illustrated, even with a good discount and the cheapest new S4 he won't be able to get close to $500/mo.

I have a order on a S4 right now and my payments are right at $500 a month with 9k down. If I didn't put any money down it was going to be around $800 a month.
It's a 36 month with 10k miles a year. I did go with the Prestige, Sports Diff, 19" wheels, Carbon Inlays, and Supercharged badging.
