I wouldn't but we are all different... Personally, I enjoy spending time washing and detailing my cars... I can spend a whole weekend outside just washing, waxing, and detailing my cars... Wife thinks I am crazy but I am sure some of you can relate...

LOL. Un-good.

Yeah, it's a real mixed bag. Some dealers are known for all sorts of unwelcome damage, while others do a reasonable job. Red, I'd say there's only one way to find out where you dealer fits in ...

If you don't want it done, be certain to tape a message to that effect on the steering wheel or dashboard of your new car. The service mgrs don't seem to have much control or concern when the request is made to not wash.

I too use the dashboard note: "Do Not Wash!" as well as have the service advisor note it on the work order. It is not worth the risk of having a well-meaning porter unintentionally leave a swirl mark or scratch in the paint from a towel or wash mitt that has a bit of grit embedded in it. And forget about automatic car washes!

I like my dealership and all but I'm very picky and protective of my cars. I usually ask them not to wash it since you never know who's doing the cleaning and with what tools/components.

I enjoy washing/detailing it anyway.

Not I. After the first time it was in and it got all covered in water spots, I asked them to never wash it again.
