Well, it's official - I pulled the trigger on a 2011 S4. Thanks to all the forum participants for the wonderful insight leading up to this purchase.
My wife and I own a 2003 BMW M5 and a 2003 Audi A4 1.8T. We would store one each season (M5 on road for Summer, A4 on road for Winter). We sold both to consolidate into a 1-car approach and we feel the S4 was the perfect solution due to its high performance (accerelation times close to the 2003 M5) and its practicality in Canadian Winters thanks to Quattro.
We considered the BMW 335xi but I've been struggling with BMW styling of late and the DSG option on Audi is very compelling. The value-for-dollar of the S4 is obvious as is the fuel economy.
So we completed a special order since the configuration we prefer is not available locally nor within a reasonable radius.
S4 Premium with S-Tronic
Pearl Phantom Black
2-Tone Mustang Brown Seats
B&O Audio
We will tint the windows upon delivery so it should look stunning.
The new orders from Canada are now being placed for 2011's only. Delivery: August-September. I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Patience is a virtue I guess.
Thanks to the forum and your comments - you answered many of our questions.

Congrats! So you officially placed an order? Does that mean you have pricing and options on the 2011 models in Canada now? Could you share any details about MSRP?
Good luck with the wait (brutal!)...the knowledge and conversation on this forum is the only thing that makes it bearable.

Thanks, MattPec.
No details on pricing yet. We made a deal based on some pricing assumptions and we agreed on a "cap" on lease payment or MSRP if they go up dramatically. This was managed between dealer and I. Worse case - the dealer keeps the car.
But, with the U.S. Canada exchange rate today and the pricing pressures in Canada, I'm not very worried. Furthermore, MY2010 units are scarce - I don't think they'll want a large gap between MY10 and MY11 lease rates.

Congrats! I'm kinda in the same boat myself and am considering the 335 xDrive vs S4. It seems that the Audi is the better car in many aspects so that's why I joined here to learn more about the car. I really hate that BMW still does not have double-clutch for its 3-series sedans...even their 1-series has this option! BMW is all screwed up w/ its product placement.
I noticed that you are in Canada as well: can you please tell me why you chose the S4 Premium instead of just the S4?

I really wish you don't have to go Premium to get it. Premiums is a rip off. Basically you pay $2500 for Homelink, Side Assist and turning head lamps.
