I just got a new S4 and need to get a set of wheels and snow tires.
The set of wheels that came on the car are 8x18 w/ 47mm offset.
The set that I'm thinking of getting are refinished B6 6-spoke
wheels that where on circa 2004 S4s which are 45mm offset. The two parts guys that I spoke with at the dealership were not sure they would clear the calipers. Is that true? What is the minimum offset wheel that I can use? Thanks.

Not quite. The previous bore is smaller so rings won't help. That said, you should be able to run as low as ET35 with the proper bore. For my snows, I bought the Alzors at ET45.
