I just installed my VMR708 + Michelin X-Ice Xi2 combo that I got from VMR and I am quite pleased with the results.
The wheels are 18 X 8 1/2, Hyper Silver +38. I have taken them to 160 kms/hr (100 mi/hr) and they run perfect.
The wheels look real nice. I did not make an in depth comparison but I cannot tell the difference between them and original AUDI wheels. As a matter of fact my wife prefers them to my original 19 inch wheels.
Tires are Michelin X-Ice Xi2 225-45-18. In the winter I prefer narrower tires as they offer better traction on ice and slush. I must admit however that they are so narrow that they offer no wheel protection.
Finally, I just want to add that the wheels and tires were incredibly well packaged. There is no way they could have been damaged in transportation even they had fallen from the truck

Nice choice. They look great and I'm sure will well accommodate Winter driving.

I also went with the 18" VMR 708s (gunmetal, and in combo with Pirelli 240 snows) and am very pleased. My 16 y/o, the toughest car critic around, much prefers the 708s to my stock 19" titanium wheels.
