Navigation/MMI worth it?

It's all preference, if you wouldn't use much of this it makes no sense to get it.
I live in a large city, and traffic can be horrible. Nav gets me the overlay of traffic from XM radio onto the map so I can avoid accidents, snarls, and find open roads. Hands free phone is manditory where I live, so using the Nav's Voice Command to navigate the phone menu, Nav system, etc is a plus for me. There is a hack where you can use DVD while in motion, which having a 16 month old makes that an easy want for me as well.
Likewise I love music, and enjoy a good sound system, so i got the B&O upgrade, which sounds much better with the full Nav integration. I back into my garage at home, so I would actually use it literally every day. Sure I back in now but could do a much more precise job with one.
For me all these make sense, and while I am not financing 100% of the car, an extra 2500 won't mean another $50 a month for me - not that I think that is a huge amount. I also consider value on resale as well, which Nav adds.

Other points above, I agree -- it depends on the useage...

That is true, but a car is a depreciating asset and quite frankly a horrible investment. That is why if you purchase instead of lease it is always best to hold on to for a while. NAV will definitely make it easier to sell the car down the road. I have first hand experience selling a car with no NAV and it definitely hurt me.

Heh, I was definitely not trying to say you will get out your money on resale. There is not any way to get out what you put in on resale usually, this is not a home

I use the back up camera every day when parking at work and love it. It also comes in handy when backing out of long twisty driveways bordered by trees at night (like my mom's). Got the car Friday and have only used nav once so far. I was just driving around all over Houston getting to know my new ride...and got a bit lost LOL!. Didn't know how to use nav yet but figured it out easily enough. It displays icons for the nearest gas station, bank, etc...and the road construcion warnings are nice too. This is my first nav system and I'm pleased that I opted for it. I won't use it often but it saved me an embarrasing phone call (where the eff am I?) so I'm glad I got it. To each his own, but I'd rather have it and not use it than need it and not have it. Plus, it's just a cool gadget/toy.
