Hi,
I just traded by BMW for a 2012 S4 with automatic. I bought the car at what I feel is a low price as the dealer wanted to move it after 50 days on his lot.I believe a contributing factor was that the prior owner dropped the car 1.5-2.0 inches with coil overs (front) and lowering springs (rear). Here in greater Boston, it's a challenge to ride so low with generally very poor road conditions, snow, etc.
I bought this car to be a daily driver, and comfort and convenience are more important to me than max handling performance.
That said, I'd be fine with OEM springs and shocks for this car. I prefer not to purchase suspension parts from an Audi dealer. What options do you suggest? Salvage parts?
Regarding the coilovers and lowering springs - I'd consider swapping same for anyone interested.
No, I'd don't yet know what brand the coilovers and springs are - I can only say that they are painter yellow!
I plan to have my local mechanic take a look at my car shortly, and expect to have specific info. He'll also perform the swap to OEM components.
