Default Newbie S4

3 months ago I bought a black S4 with the rear sports differential and a 6 MT. What an awesome car. My previous Audi was a 2001 A6 2.7T which my 16 year old daughter now drives and has 130K miles. It was also a great car, but the S4 is definitely a step up. My wife thanks this forum for the fact that I dropped another 5 grand on the car since starting to read this forum. My car is in the shop getting the ECU reprogrammed, UPS brought a box with a Stratmosphere intake waiting to be installed and I have a Milltek exhaust system on order (backordered). I can't wait to drive it when it is newly configured.

Congrats!!! The S4 is making a big leap...you will love it even more.

Couple ways to spend a few more bucks (I think you will enjoy them)...

Get a VAG COM asap. You can add many cool features, Lap timer and oil temp, disable winking DRL's, efficiency mode, Video in motion, etc (and do a bunch of other cool stuff like reset maintenance intervals, clear CEL's, log times, measure all kinds of stuff, etc)...this is around $350.

I would get a tint job...$350.

You might want to upgrade lighting...You can do LED's for plate, doors and interior for less than $100.

I upgraded the headlights to 6,000K and LOVE them. Very easy mod. I also added HID's for the fogs and it make a huge difference in light output. Prices range depending on what you buy!

Post some pics when you can. Welcome!!!

Yes, the Vag Com is also on order and is supposed to arrive today. I learned about all of this stuff from reading this forum in the last week, it has been very helpful. I can't wait to plug my car into the computer and make some changes. Before I read this forum I thought a Vag Com cable was a cable to communicate with... well you know what I mean.

Also regarding the LED lighting for the inside and the plate, where did you find that or have it done?

I got mine from tunerdomes...

http://www.tunerdomes.com/Home_.html

Link to B8 S4 Premium Kit
http://www.tunerdomes.com/index.php?...&productId=125

They were great to work w/ and quality product.

Very easy to do yourself. I bought mine as a kit and all the correct bulbs and sizes were there...so I didn't have to look up part numbers...it was all done for me.
