I've changed the oil twice in my S4 and I, honestly, cannot believe how accurate the MMI is when providing details on the oil level. When I add as little as 1/10th of a quart of oil in seconds the MMI will show the change on the display.
After seeing this happen twice I have found a new level of confidence in the ability of the MMI to provide highly accurate oil level information.

I think the dip stick is most helpful when changing your oil.

This is so basic...you can't miss it. If you are standing at the front of the car facing the windshield it's just below the valve gear on the right hand side fo the engine.
It is a very simple plug you pull out and then replace that with the new dip stick. I think it was black.
