They are not lieing to you,it is true, there is no "dipstick" officially available for the S4/A4 or any new models.
The "dipstick" they use at the dealer service bay is now considered a "tool" and cost $180.00+ to buy from Audi, and the Snap on dealer will sell it for $80.00....totally hilarious.
You have to source dipsticks from older models.
For a Audi A4 2.0TFSI,for instance the SAME engine ,albeit without variable valve lift, is used in a lot of VW models, and simply purchasing a dipstick from the EOS/GTI/Jetta will work in the Audi engine, just like the A6/A4 3.2 engine dipstick works in our engine since the 3.0 engin is basically developed off of that 3.2 motor.

Big Turbo TT is correct, it is listed under tool and not parts for the S4/S5. Give this PN:06E115611H to your dealership or you can also order it here for $23.81. This is Audi of San Diego's Internet Parts Sales department, so yes, they are available through your local dealership.

I asked the dealer about the new 2004.5 oil filters, and they said it wont fit 2002's. is this true?
