Heavy German brake dust is always going to require a proper wheel cleaner. Lo-dusting pads are the only solution.

Sorry, don't agree at all. Armor All Wheel Protectant is magic, but 4 weeks seems to be about the limit until reapplication is required. However, application only takes about 5 seconds on a clean, dry wheel.

Okay so we washed the car down, scrubbed it, went back over it with a claybar. Dried it. Then we polished it to make it nice and shiny. Afterwards we put Opticoat v2 on the entire car. Then we took off the wheels, cleaned them (terrible experience with moderate success) and Opticoated them.

Unfortunately the pics don't show but the car is brighter, feels smooth and looks great.

The whole process took around 7-8 hours to do.

Okay picture time!

Doing all the prep work (sorry for no before prep work photos)

After adding the Opticoat!

Time to celebrate. Note that the last car, the BRZ also is Opticoated (has been for a week now.)

I will leave these pics up for a while.

Sorry I partially photoshopped a few buddies of mine out as well as license plates. =P

But yeah everything looks really good at this point. We've done multiple Opticoat installs so we have gotten it down to a science. Of course now my buddies want me to do their cars too

I wonder if Opti-Coat will keep the chromed exhaust tips looking chrome longer?

You're correct, that's also a viable solution.
