Either of those are very good deals. Audi Supplier discount is a flat 6% off retail, which comes to about $500 over invoice. On 2011's people were happy with anything more than $1500 off.

guys using a dealer who participates with the Amex zag program are getting the best prices. Usually $500 over invoice. $300 over invoice would be fantastic if it could be done. http://amexnetwork.zag.com/main.html

depends on what sticker is and if it includes dealer fees, advertising fees, etc.

Great info in this thread.

Did you guys do all your negotiations before placing the order? So basically when you went in to pick up the car, you signed the final paperwork and just drove off right?

I can't wait to order mine. My lease on my vw gti 09 is up next February so I'm looking at ordering sometime in October to make sure it comes in on time.

My dealer didn't even know the exact pricing or had the 2012 order guide when I went there last weekend, they only knew I couldn't get a 2011 anymore.

Based on the options I wanted they gave me a rough estimate based on the 2011 model and asked for a $2,000 refundable deposit.

I'm still waiting to here back from them. Don't even know if they can even place the order with Audi right now for a 2012 model or they have to wait until next month.

Actually, I negotiated everything before I ordered the car. Usually, dealers can lock in a deal and interest rate for 3-4 months in advance of delivery. In my case, my deal improved at delivery time. They were offering a $750 bounty to current BMW owners(I was replacing my 335i )which I appied to my down money. AND the dealer threw in Audi Care for free which was not part of the original negotiations($800 value). As far as the deposit is concerned. I put down nothing, but my friend was the GM at the dealership. But anything more than $1000 in out of line unless you are ordering something unusual. And even in that case, you deposit IS refundable. Actually, the deposit protects you more so than the dealer, since you can always walk away from the deal and get your money back. But it legally binds the dealer to what had been ordered and previously negotiated. AS LONG AS IT IS IN WRITING! Anything promised or negotiated, not in writing, can be up for interpretation or renegotiation. But a reputable dealer will stand by what was agreed upon at time of order. Not all dealers are reputable!

Got my 2011 for $105 UNDER factory invoice, which is $338 over dealer cost. Then again the car wasn't ordered and was on the lot. It took a few rounds of back and fourth but I talked them down a lot.
