Default Passport 9500ix

First off, if anybody has this it would be great if you can tell me how well it works. secondly is there any other place to mount this thing other than the windshield, i think when things are mounted on the windshield it looks so dumb.

If you have a 9500ix, need to mount it on windshield. If you have a 9500ci, can mount it elsewhere.

I have an old 8500 that still works very well. I got the visor clip and mounted it on the far left side of my visor (past the hinge even) with the cable run inside the pillar. It seems to still work very well up there and is nearly impossible to see from the outside. Plus I can even still use my visor though I can't quite put it all the way forward. I'll try to get some pics when I get home.

if you can get some pictures of how "stealthy" it is, that would be great.

I actually did a post of my install a few months ago. It's technically on the windshield, but it's high enough that it's really out of the way. Had the 9500ix for a little over a year now and I love it. Had definitly saved my *** a few times and the ability to warn me of upcoming traffic cameras is great too. Here's my original post w/ pics:

Windshield mount it high, up by the tint strip. That way, you don't have a detector sitting on the middle of your windshield. I have my Valentine 1 mounted high, to the left of the mirror. My 9500ix is sitting in the middle of my windshield, just for fun . I don't drive with the 9500ix often.

I installed the Escort Passport 9500ix a couple of weeks ago and love it. I keep it on my windshield at all times. It looks clean and it's unobtrusive mounted under the rear view mirror using the Escort supercup mount.

See this link for pictures.

... Just make sure you mount it up high. The higher you can mount it, the further forward it can sense, which can help give you more time to react to a bogey alert.
