Default Possible Oil Sensor Failure?

I was on my way back from the store today and I got a low oil level warning (not the sensor failure warning which the S4 also has) and to top it off with 1 quart max. I went and bought 2 quarts and put the first one in drove around got up to operating temperature and still had the warning after a couple on/offs. I put the 2nd quart in and it's still thirsty/warning me.

I'm not getting the sensor error, too much oil error, nor am I leaking any oil as I've been monitoring it all day.

I have 10900 miles on the car, the oil was changed at my 5k service and haven't touched it since. I'm somewhat hesitant to put 3 quarts in her, what do you guys recommend? I haven't experienced this before on my BMWs/Infiniti as they were always happy after 1 quart topper. Any advice appreciated.

I'm definitely going to order the dipstick, I cant stand the MMI oil monitor/TPMS =(. This wouldnt be an issue if i could check it manually!

Ya i'm definitely not leaking any oil that's for sure, so it just seems odd.

After 2 full quarts the warning comes on the dash and briefly shows the level at min level and it hasn't changed since I added those 2.

The dipstick is a regular Audi part, with an Audi part number (part # 06E115611H http://www.genuinevwaudiparts.com/pa...?siteid=214407). Maybe call your local Audi dealer first thing Monday morning and see if you can stop by and pick one up.

Yah I don't have the refill immediately warning. It says low level fill 1qt max, you may continue to drive.

I guess I'm just going to get another quart or two and fill it up with 3-4, if it still is being troublesome I'm going to take it in.

I know the capacity is like 7 quarts or 6.8 or something so who knows maybe it really is this low.

Could also be a faulty hood sensor - it will not reset the oil sensor if the hood sensor is bad (someone else had this) as it thinks there is no way you could have added oil if you never opened the hood.

I would be very careful not to put too much oil in the vehicle.

You say your not leaking. They only other place it would be going is thru the exhaust as burnt oil and unless you are seeing huge smoke coming out your pipes, my guess is a bad sensor. Meaning your oil level is fine and you certainly don't want to overfill.

I would stop by the dealership Monday morn and let them mechanically check your oil level. It will take 2 minutes and if it looks fine, there is your answer.

If I was betting on this I would guess the oil level is going to read over filled.
