Both the Cantronic unit and the Gtech arrived today. Going to do the install Sunday morning. I should have some before and after times as well my initial impression of this thing shortly after. Unfortunately I had a hard time finding a chance to do a before dyno. The Gtech will have to do for now.

If you go from 330 odd bhp to 430 or even 380bhp you will see a decrease in acceleration times whether it is a plug in device or a remap.
I had a tuning box on our 120d and it knocked nearly a second off the time, it went from 163bhp to 210bhp.
I have had a proper remap on our 123d and it has taken .7 seconds off.
I have to say that I haven't found the GTech to be that good a unit.
I have had a Race Technology AP22 for a good 4 years now and compared the two and the AP22 is far more consistent, a friend tried them all at the strip and he said the AP22 was bang on the money, where as the GTech was sometimes out by as far as .4 seconds on some runs, so you can't really call it reliable.
You want to get Dynolicious for the iPhone, it is a superb app, it has been tested numerous times and found to be more accurate than the GTech.
Considering it is cheaper, even if you have to buy an iPod Touch, it has to be the something everyone owns.

It has been proven that the piggyback method is inferior due to it having to still operate within the parameters set by the ECU from Audi. Specifically, the timing cannot be forced any farther than factory settings, so the MTM boost is only increased about .7PSI from the availible ~12.0 unused boost.
I amwaiting for the US shops to put out their forthcoming ECU reflash which will address timing in addition to boost. It will almost certainly be close to $1,000 rather than triple or more.

We don't know for sure. Only that it's coming this year is the only comment I have heard as far as a "date" per se from APR or anyone. Seeing that they have the APR S4 on the track, and obviously are not only running it with ECU mods, but also logging the data and likely getting some very good data to apply to the everyday driver's ECU, I'd wager it will be in the realm of possibilities before summer, so call it mid-June at the latest I think.
