Purchase winter tire/rim TPMS?

Hi, I recently got the S4, and are getting ready to purchase Winter Tires/Rim.

Coming from years of BMW, The TPMS requires an extra sensor.

My questions for those super smart Audi fellows, does AUDI requires a TPMS sensor like BMW?

Nope ... if it's a B8, the TPMS system should be passive so it doesn't have wheel sensors.

Shin, here's an e-z test:

rubber valve stems on your car indicates sensor-less system
metal valve stems on your car indicates in-wheel, sensor-based system

B8 2009 was the last year for active wheel sensors.

Thanks for the correction ... my wife's Avant is an '11 and I just got my S4 (old one didn't have any TPMS) and both are passive.
