So I'm about to pick up my car.

There is, of course the dreaded and standard 299 "doc" fee.

But my dealer is also trying to charge me an additional 400 dollars for a "New Jersey Registration fee!" I was like "what?"

I'm asking you guys who have recently bought your cars: was this on your sale sheet from your dealer too?

It costs about 65 dollars to register a car in New Jersey! What the hell is going on? Besides the usually bending and over and .... well, you know.

Opinions and experiences please! Going in tomorrow...

Telling them you won't pay it works wonders.

I went to pick up my wife's Acura and the sales person had put a "protection" package on it which consisted of side body moldings, clear bra, etc, priced at $1500.

I got up to leave the dealership and magically the "real" car we ordered was all of a sudden available, it had none of those features installed.

update... they're telling me now that includes a 4 year registration. Still a mark up but not as offensive as one.
