This page lists all of the things you can change on your V1, depending on which version you have, and how to do it.

Well even after programming my V1 to discount K band signals from the rear facing antenna, I was still getting too many false alarms on K band to make the V1 usable. Hence I just pulled the fuse on the Side Assist, (right side of trunk; #10 in the red bank of fuses). I'll live happily without it and be able to use the full functionality of my trusted V1.

I'll put the fuse back in and check it out. Thanks for the heads-up.

If your firmware has been upgraded then you most likely have POP. It's a software feature anyway, and doesn't require newer hardware.
My older V1 still has it's original firmware, so I don't have POP.

Sorry to bring back this post, but I was very unsuccessful in my attempt to quite the Valentine 1 just by disabling the POP (J option) in the radar.
After many calls to the support line and speaking the engineers I have found someone of a solution to my problem.
I am using the unit on a 2012 S4 with side assist.
Not only did I have to disable the POP feature, the following options were disabled (down arrow) 7-b-c-d-g.
My issue was that disabling just the POP feature would quite the radar, but the moment that it locked into another K band it would stay on and trigger the side assist frequency and would go haywire.
This is a basic explanation of what the feature disabling would do. Option "7" mutes false "K" band alerts which goes hand in hand with option "b-c-d" which is a timing setting. Which I set to 3 seconds, this is represented by all three options set to the down arrow and it would vary depending on your software version. Having said that, my radar will now mute and ignore for the first 3 seconds any "K" band alerts.
All these features are only active and enable when you are using the radar in the Advance Logic mode "L" or Logic mode "small L". If you have the POP feature set to off and make the following program change and you take your radar into another vehicle, by setting the radar back to ALL Bogeys "A mode" the changes will not be taken into consideration until you set it back to any of the LOGIC modes, but the POP feature still will be set to OFF.
Hope it quiets the radar as much as it did for me and eliminated all those false bogeys.
Please give feedback if this helped.
