When I saw your post I was going to post my two cents as I am an adjuster, however, I fell asleep halfway through your post, holy f$&k boys that's a long post!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I was rear ended by a hit and run last month. I could have chased the guy down myself, but ended up calling the cops.

Cop told me the people who run are all deadbeats without insurance and no assets to speak of. Small percentage are criminals who are packing. You don't want to mess with them. Cop also told me that this sort of thing has increased a lot with the downturn in the economy.

I would've gotten back into my car then followed the guy and beat his *** or at least kicked his car as he was trying to leave.

Either lawyer up or you have his licence number so you can find out where he lives. Then follow him to the mall or public parking and make sure no cameras and people and then key the wheel well of his car. This is the best place as no one will see it and his car will rust in a year or two and he won't even suspect you. People like this need to pay!

If your car makes it to the shop, don't get a Cadillac DHS as a rental. It's huge and floats all over the road - the exact opposite of the S4!

And if you DO, FFS don't come here and post complaints about it.

I don't think the lack of assets or insurance should prevent a visit from the police. He could already have a record or be on parole and even a little incident like this could make a difference and get this douchebag back in jail (I'm just guessing he is "familiar" with the justice system). Of course, it's easy for me to be brave hiding behind my computer
