Rearview camera on 2012 S4's
Apparently there's an option code SK6, called "rearview camera prep" that you have to order, to later get the rearview camera.
Seems they still don't know when those cameras will be available.
Does anyone know if this SK6 option has to be installed from the factory (I'm guessing it requires ordering the nav package as well), or can it be installed by the dealer at a later date when the rearview cameras come in?

The SK6, "rearview camera prep" is not an ordered option. Rather, it is a quick notification or indication that the vehicle was shipped without the camera module but has been prepared to accept the camera module once available. In order for a 2012 model to have a rearview camera it must have nav and parking sensors. Camera modules are expected to be readily available in Sep.

Perfect; thanks guys. It was the rear parking sensor half of the equation I was missing.
So that also would mean if a car has the prestige package it will be equipped/ready for the rearview camera, even though the build sheets I have from local dealers (for 2012 cars equipped with prestige) don't call out the SK6 package explicitly. Or I would assume so anyway.

Just got this e-mail from my sales rep, as i put in an order and asked about this yesterday.
"I tried to put in SK6 into your order and it said it was outside of the date range. I'm guessing this means the parts are back in stock. I will see what i can find out. "
I will keep everybody updated if i get anymore info.
