Replica Wheel Quality

Does the quality of replica wheels vary much. There are lot of different options for replica wheels, I'm trying to decide between VRM, Hartmann, or OEMWheelsplus. Is the quality of VRM or Hartmann that much better than OEMwheelsplus?

Answer to your question: Yes, the quality varies. Big variance in weight and strength.
The 4 sets of VMRs I've had have been great, light for cast wheels, but yet strong.
I did not like the set of Hartmanns I had - very heavy.
I had a set that I bought from a now-defunct company called AAA rims in Holland, MI - those wheels sucked - heavy and weak.
I bought all my VMRs through my local Discount Tire store - that way, I had local support and THEY could deal with any issues that arose with VMR. This arrangement has worked out well for me.

Question: Why do you keep starting new threads on the same topic??

Well, they sell for 1/3 as much, so even if you ignore the semi-ridiculous profit margins Audi makes on its OEM wheels, it's hard to imagine that VMRs would be better...
OEM wheels (and their finish) have to last at least the length of the factory warranty (4 years 50K miles in the US), so at least their finish quality is better than pretty much any aftermarket wheel.
Why is that even relevant, though? Were you considering getting Audi OEM wheels instead of VMRs?

I was only wondering because if they were nice i'd use the stocks as the wheels for my snow tires instead of the VMR's. I talked with the VMR people and they told me they would have to machine the wheels to be a bigger bore size to fit on the S4. It costs another $100. SHould i be concerned about the machining? Does this do anything to the strength of the wheel?

VMR machined my 710s, too - I haven't noticed any adverse effects on road or track.
