RS4-style mesh grille for B8.5... finally!
So I finally got my wish and got rid of that awful, ugly stock frame on my S4 (see attached). Grille is $250 from ECS and cost me another $180 to have installed at the Audi dealership body shop. Note that this kit comes with a EURO license plate holder so if you live in a state where no front plate is a primary offense, beware. ALSO, there is no built-in notch for the S4 badge, but the body shop guys figured something out.
They were SUPER impressed with the quality and fit of the grille, and I think it looks great. Worth every penny.
Link to the one I bought is here:http://www.ecstuning.com/News/Audi_B...013/ES2627563/

I'll try to answer a few common questions:
1) I had NO issue paying $180... I think it was 2 hours of labor. They had to take the bumper off, change the rings and affix the S4 badge. It's warrantied and done right. University Audi
2) I could care less where the S4 badge is, it looks fine to me
3) I have no idea how they got the S4 badge on there, other than they "worked some magic" and it'll stay on there even in an accident
4) Regarding the "cutting" - there is a piece of plastic behind the stock grille that is painted body color. According to the body shop at the dealer, this is a non-structural piece of body work that is commonly removed
5) I will post some sun / angle pictures one I get the chance
Thanks for all the positive input! The only thing I don't like is that it's glossy piano black and the foglight grilles are flat black... anyone know how I can make the foglight mesh shiny?
