BTW - You can't shift into 7th gear under a certain RPM.... don't remember what that RPM is but just so anyone who tries this at say under 40mph, it won't work.
In "D" it will shift into 7th on it's own.... which is weird that it will do it automatically but you can't do it manually.

DSG will not upshift, even overridden using paddles, under 1900 RPM, usually closer to 2000, which does occur at just over 40 MPH. Not sure why you would even try this, though, that is seriously short shifting.
Likewise the DSG (to prevent the car from stalling) will downshift, even if you are in manual shift mode, when RPM's drop to under 1,100 RPM. The exception here is if you are in 1st gear, at which point it will start to slip the clutch under 1,100 RPM to prevent a stall, and when the car is at 1 MPH it will disengage the tranmission. If you are very attuned to the car, you will hear/feel this, thought it's pretty subtle.

Yep, even if you put it in "N" when you are coasting to a stop, you can still feel the clutch for 1st letting completely go as the DSG stops trying to keep 1st gear speed matched to the engine RPM in the event you decide to shift back into gear at a low speed.

Not me. I'm going to specifically tell my SA not to do anything to the transmission. I like the way it shifts. Making it smoother = making it less performance oriented IMO. You can't have smoother shifts AND fast/firm shifts at the same time. So they will most likely dial back on the clamping forces or have a bigger delay in the shifts... OR BOTH.
