i was faced with the same decision when i purchased my s4. when i went to my dealership to place an order for a s4. there was a rs4 sitting in the lot with 25k miles and about 7k more than the s4. instead of waiting 3 months for my s4, i could of took the rs4 home that day but i'm glad i didnt and got the s4 instead.

I summarize it as:
B7 RS4 - Looks + sound.
B8 S4 - Everything else.

I think if we got the more euro RS4, the interior differences with the seats and steering wheel could bring the interiors to a much more even debate, but since we got the fat-american rs4 interior, the s4 interior is much nicer.
