I've looked pretty closely at the CTS-V wagon, but the lack of AWD just bugs me... plus GM quality in general. The Mercedes is nice, but you're quickly at $100k large with a few options... and again, no awd.
People who like to ski, camp, own dogs, drive fast, etc enjoy the extra room an Avant can give you. Watch Volvo bring out another S60R wagon before Audi does anything. Sad.

No, no, no, the stupid ones drive SUVs and think Fox News is true, not a comedy show.

love these threads on avants. I've had three. A 2002 S6 avant and a 2006 and 2007 S4. loved them. had to do a special order to get them. Loads of compliments from people who recognized what the were. great for going up the mountain snowboarding, going to home depot and still have performance when I wanted it. But people wouldn't buy them. it costs Audi too much to federalize them when they only sell a few thousand over five years. most of the S avants had to be special ordered because dealers didn't want them sitting in inventory for months. And most americans want to be able to walk into a dealer and walk out with the car. Those of us that special order are a minority. Sadly we won't see an avant anytime soon

Mercedes and Cadillac can do it, Audi really shouldn't use the "won't sell enough" excuse. They're just being greedy. Give us the damn car! They have a TT-RS, we should get something cool.
I had a 2002 S6 as well, that car was awesome.
That's it... I'm going to go buy a CTS-V wagon and teach them a lesson!
