Not sure if I can complain on the gas mileage on a car that has a sub 5 second 0-60.pulls almost a full g on the skidpad, runs 12's on the quarter and can go 155mph stock out of the box.
Anyhow,I usually see about 16-19mph 60/40 city/highway respectivly and on a highway cruise I see about 24-29 mph on the display which is better than the Lexus GS460(4.6 V8) or the IS350(3.5 V6)I had.
The only killer is the 3.72 a gallon for the Shell v-power around here![Frown](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Closing in on 10k miles on my 2010 S4. I'm still seeing 19-21 mpg on most tanks. Most of my driving is my commute which is 50/50 city/hwy and about 11 miles one way. Longer trips are better on mileage.
I've experimented with driving style and I can definitely push the mpg higher by not having fun but only a bit (1-2mpg) and why would you drive an s4 like that anyway?

I'm impressed that one person's fuelly listing on this thread shows consistent numbers in the 24-25mpg range. I average around 19-20. That said, my wife takes it most days on trips less than 4 miles each way and the engine never heats up.
I noticed that if you have the mirror heaters, the rear defrost, and the seat heaters going that can be a major drain on the mileage (not a scientific test).
I have screwed around on the freeway at a constant speed, adjusting rpm from 1500-2000-2500-3000 etc by changing the gear and I saw very little change in fuel economy by choosing a different rpm. I figured the ECU was backing off the fuel rate as a increased the rpm under a constant load.

The Air Compressor (A/C) is also engine-driven, and turning that off will increase mileage as well.
Turning everything off in my Dinan tuned 335, I can get about 34mpg at 70mph. With stuff on, I get maybe 28.
(the Dinan tune shifts the boost patterns, and runs very low boost at cruising RPM, which gives the great mileage. Start to step on it, though, and that all goes away VERY fast.)

Try $4.60 a US gallon here in Ontario. I'm not complaining as I use a company gas card. I generally burn through $6-700.00 per month. I am taxed on 20% of all gas used whether buiness or personal. Therefore I pay approx .46 cents per US gallon. I feel like I am living in Venezuela, except for the cold. I am averaging approx 12L per 100km, 19.6 mpg US.

If you can afford a 50K-60K car,you can afford to put gas in it unless somebody's a real schmuck and drives around with $5 in his pocket.

There are 40 B8 S4s in the Fuelly system. I got the idea from NW4SGuy.
