S4 Drive Select - Dynamic Mode doesn't hold
Just picked up a 2014 S4 last week. First time Audi owner, and by far, the best car I've owned in 20 years. Over the past seven days, I experimented with the different Drive Select modes. For my driving style, Dynamic Mode is clearly the best option. So lately, I've kept it set to that mode, but I'm noticing that it's not staying on this mode when I shut down and restart the car. When I view the Mode in MMI, it indicates it's on Dynamic, but the transmission is not set to "S" as indicated on the dash; it shows "D" and the car drives like it's in Auto or Comfort Mode. If I then reselect Dynamic Mode on the MMI, the display changes to "S" and it drives like it should in that mode.
So I'm wondering if this is a normal characteristic? Seems to me like it should stay on the mode I selected before I shut the car down.

Same behavior on all Audi models. If you don't want to get into VCDS to mod it, an alternative to going into the MMI each time you start the car is to just pull once on the shift lever back to "S" to return to Dynamic throttle and transmission mapping. Same thing but quicker.

My 2010 always reverted to "auto" when I restarted the car, but my 2014 is holding any setting I choose. Very happy with this change.
