Default S4 v TTS

Loved the S4, but there are no TT/TTS's to test. I'm in MT so even if one turned up anywhere I'd have to take a flight to see it. Any opinions regarding the relative sportiness of the 2 cars. Size argues the TTS, technology might favor the S4. I don't need the space in the sedan, but the S4 was so good I wonder if despite it's size advantage the TTS can corner as flat/turn in as well......

TTS advantages
lighter, smaller
magnetic suspension technology
Disadvanteges
front bias/understeer,
New haldex might mitigate any understeer, but the S had NONE (from the limited diff?)
Turbo lag vs. linearity of the supercharger
Given the paucity of TTS allocations, I'm leaning to ordering a TTS and test drive it when it arrives, and get the dealer to agree my deposit will rollover to an S4 if I'm not happy...

Short answer: Wait and get a TTRS if you don't need the space.

TTS/RS has the magneto-electric shocks, less weight and will corner much flatter, be sportier, and more tossable than any 4,000lbs sedan can ever be.

Don't get me wrong, I love the S4, the engine is amazing with zero lag since it's all supercharger not turbo, but still won't keep pace with a well driven TTS. Both cars are highly modifiable aftermarket, so a win/win there.

Talking about "girlie", I have the DSG on a VW. I want to stay with that tranny for now so have decided against the TTRS. I wouldn't be having this discussion otherwise because I would absolutely spend the money for the RS......

TTRS pricing is pretty reasonable. Base price up here is around 67,000, so will likely be a few less in the US

So much for that car and driver article that said it'd be 80,000.

This. The TT-RS is one hell of a car. Only thing is that it's DSG only, so probably not for you if you're looking for a manual.

I believe the TTRS is manual only; TT and TTS are DSG only

Are there many 6'3" guys driving TTs out there? Reason is i sat in one in 2000 and i had to bend my neck, no way i could put it in the safe "forward-seating" position. Have things improved in the way of headroom since then?

TTRS one bat out of Hungarian Hell, the first RS car made outside of Neckarsulm. If i were a platform shoe single guy i would definitely spring for one.
