This is my first post but I have been lurking since February.
I came across this article last week. It is the first test I have seen that compares the S4 with the 335i x-drive.
It might be helpful to anybody who is trying to decide between the two cars.

Quite a few very weird comments in that article: the S4 has a front-drive bias, the 335xi non-sport suspension is firmer, and the S4 differentials "bind" at low speeds (does he think the S4 has a 4WD locking diff setup or something?). It'd be nice if reviewers did their homework first.

And my guess is the S4 was wearing super mushy snow tires, while the 335 had on more performance oriented winters. There isn't any other explanation for them thinking the 335 non-sport has a firmer ride. I think a Rav4 has a more aggressive suspension than the base 335.

That "x" badge sells, and that's about all it does!

Quattro is the best always!! They invented the technology of sport all wheel drive... xdrive is for winter driving not performance driving. As I've mentioned before. Audi rally cars were the best in the world because of the Quattro technology. The others (including subaru and mitsubishi... which are great rally makers) were getting cleaned by Audis. They had to cancel the rally series until Audi shared their "Mystery" technology to make things fair!!!!... Xdrive is not even close to close
