I was just wondering if anyone has seen any comparisons between the S4 and 335is? Seems strange that the 335is was BMW's answer to the new S4 and I have yet to see any real world comparisons.
Also to anyone that has driven both, has the 335is taken the lead once again or does it still fall short? (interior falls short for sure)

It might be due to lack of interest. One of my major complaints about the 335i (aside from the HPFP) is that it's severely traction-starved. No LSD + runflats on a high-torque engine... The 335is does nothing to address the traction problem, it's just throwing more power down. I imagine this will make the situation worse, as I had a JB3 in mine and it made the lack of traction even more obvious.
If the 335is included at least a LSD, it might be worth comparing again.

I saw a 335is at the BMW dealer around the corner from my house about a week after I got my S4. I stopped in just to look at it for curiosity sake and then ran from it when Isaw the price. 335is convertible was over $70,000. Possibly the dumbest thing I ever saw, considering you can buy an M3 for that much coin.

The upgrade for the 335is is mostly engine related (extra radiator, fan, oil cooler?) and the DCT. They put a bunch of M Badges on interior equipment and call it an is. Pretty lame especially since BMW will be moving to the N55 engine next year. I'm coming from a 335, when my S4 gets here, and you can get the extra HP on a 335 with a $125 dollar plug and play. Biggest reason to get the is is the DCT. Everything else about the S4 crushes the 335 IMO.

Yeah, but it's only like 30 hp from a stock 335. Like I said, easily gotten with a $125 plug and play mod that takes 2 minutes to install. People have easily run 50 extra hp for an extended period without any upgrades to anything else. Why they felt the need to add on an extra radiator, oil cooler, and fan for an extra 30 hp is beyond me. Actually it's not, that's how they can justify 4K for a 30 hp upgrade in the ECU.
