FWIW, it took about 1.5 days for my BMW to leave Jersey City and get to my dealer in Chicago. That distance is around 800 miles. SD to SF is roughly 500 miles.
It's not so much the time from when to boat docks, rather, it's when US Customs releases the car...which can take some time depending on how much they feel like working.

From the day, the car arrived in San Diego, till arrival at the dealer 5 days (2-3 days port paperwork).
This can be expedited at the dealer discretion.
