What color is the 2011? I've got a 2012 ibis with the titanium trim and it's a beautiful car. Regardless of there being a new kid on the block for 2013, I don't think you would regret the 2011.

Bank the savings and drive the 2011 for a few years till the B9 comes out.

I guess my next step is to ask the dealer how many launches the car has logged and whether the TSB regarding the sport differential has been addressed.

OP, do you know if the MY11 has an ECU tune or other mods? Specific to the ECU tune, Audi now able to detect this and will immediately void the warranty. This is referred to as the TD1. Google it as there is a fair amount of documentation. This would even impact Stasis products which provide a warranty.

I suspect the real difference between a MY11 and MY13, assuming $51k purchase price on the used model, would be $6k. There are some who don't like the new exterior styling but in the end I suspect it will be well received and preferred over the existing. Simply for the updated interior and technology.

Use a website such as TrueCar to look at MSRP vs. invoice on the MY12. Estimate 1% increase to the next model year.

I will definitely ask about the TD1 although I intend to do my own APR stage 1 eventually.

Question: the dealer offered to make the 2011 a Certified Pre-Owned for $2500. Should I take him up on that?he said it would increase warranty to 100k miles

My Audi CA stated that it cost them $1300 to CPO a vehicle. If so the $2.5k seems a bit high. To be honest, with less than 10k miles on the odometer CPO shouldn't be necessary. However extended warranty could be an option.

The difference between CPO and extended is dealer bringing normal wear items to at least 50% of useful life (such as tires, brakes, etc). Since the vehicle still has the factory warranty any non-wear item would be covered by the factory. You can always buy an extended warranty before the factory version expires. This would be my approach.

Last point, if you buy the MY11, even from a dealer, it wouldn't hurt to take it to an Indy shop for an independent review.

Very nice. If you like the car i'd go for the savings and skip the wait.

There isn't anything drastically different about the 2013. A few cosmetic changes, I like the old look myself, the bumper, grill and lights don't flow on the 2013.
